What If You Are Not Satisfied with Your Results?

When the Cape Town matric results are released, it is common for some scores to fall below expectations. In this case, there are various options available to students that allow them to continue with their future plans.

1. Re-marking and Re-checking

The first step is to submit an application to re-check or re-mark the answer sheets immediately. The application can be submitted online or in person at your school or district office. The last date to submit the application is 27 January 2026.

2. Matric Rewrite

If students are unsatisfied with their matric results 2026, they can also choose to register for the next examination. This is also known as the Supplementary Exams and takes place in May/June. The steps to register are mentioned on the reverse of your Statement of Results.

This allows students to improve their scores for individual subjects and improve their pass level.

Alternatively, students can choose to enrol for a programme corresponding to their pass level. Upon completion, they can progress towards a Bachelor’s degree.
