Job Title: CHRO South Africa & Africa
Position Overview
The CHRO is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing and managing the HR function across Regenesys business units, including South Africa and the broader African footprint.
This role places a strong emphasis on talent management, leadership pipeline development, organisational performance, and statutory compliance, ensuring alignment between people strategy and business growth.
As a line management role, this position is accountable for leading HR teams, driving execution excellence, and ensuring compliant, scalable HR delivery across diverse markets.

• Responsible for: Effective delivery of HR functions across the Regenesys Group
• Key Relationships:
o Internal: Executive leadership, management, and employees
o External: Regulatory bodies, SETAs, vendors, and partners

Key Responsibilities
1. Global HR Strategy Development
• Design and implement a comprehensive global HR strategy aligned to business growth objectives
• Standardise HR policies, practices, and procedures across regions while ensuring localisation and compliance
• Partner with leadership to drive workforce planning, organisational design, and capability building across South Africa and Africa
2. Talent Management & Leadership Pipeline
• Develop and execute robust talent management strategies, including succession planning and leadership development
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and leadership roles across regions
• Identify high-potential talent and implement structured development pathways
• Drive career pathing, internal mobility, and retention strategies
• Align learning and development initiatives to business performance and future skills requirements
3. Talent Acquisition & Retention
• Lead global recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent
• Build diverse and inclusive talent pipelines
• Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives across regions
4. Leadership & Culture Development
• Foster a cohesive organisational culture aligned to Regenesys values
• Implement leadership development programmes to strengthen management capability
• Drive transformation initiatives, including diversity and inclusion and B-BBEE alignment
5. Performance Management
• Implement and manage a global performance management system linked to rewards and productivity
• Drive a high-performance culture through clear accountability and continuous feedback mechanisms
• Enhance employee engagement and organisational effectiveness
6. Payroll, Industrial Relations (IR), and Statutory Reporting
• Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage all industrial relations matters, including representation at the CCMA
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of all statutory reports and returns
7. Statutory Compliance, WSP & Employment Equity (Critical Requirement)
• Ensure full compliance with all South African labour and statutory frameworks, including:
o Labour Relations Act
o Basic Conditions of Employment Act
o Employment Equity Act
• Lead and oversee all Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) processes, ensuring:
o Alignment between skills development strategy and business objectives
o Maximisation of SETA grants and funding opportunities
• Drive and manage Employment Equity (EEA) strategy and reporting, including:
o EE plans, targets, and submissions
o Transformation alignment with organisational and regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with additional statutory and governance requirements, including:
o Skills Development Levies (SDL)
o B-BBEE alignment (where applicable)
o HR audits and regulatory reporting
• Provide strategic oversight on labour relations, union engagement, and dispute resolution
8. Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure HR practices comply with local and international labour laws across all regions
• Identify and mitigate HR-related risks
• Maintain governance frameworks to ensure organisational compliance
9. HR Systems and Data Management
• Oversee HR systems, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment and efficiency
• Manage HR dashboards and analytics to inform strategic decision-making
• Drive digitisation and continuous improvement of HR processes
10. Employee Relations & Communication
• Act as a key liaison between employees and leadership
• Manage employee relations issues, grievances, and conflict resolution
• Ensure transparent and effective communication across all levels
11. Staff Management and Development
• Lead, manage, and develop the HR team across regions
• Build capability within HR teams to deliver high-quality services
• Contribute to the academic environment through facilitation of MBA and undergraduate programmes

Qualifications and Experience
• MBA or relevant Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of HR management experience in a multi-country or global environment
• Strong HR generalist background with subject matter expertise across core HR disciplines

Mandatory Experience:
• Strong, hands-on experience with:
o Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and ATR submissions
o Employment Equity (EEA) strategy and reporting
o SETA engagement and funding frameworks
o Broader statutory compliance and HR governance
• Proven experience operating across South Africa and multiple African markets
• In-depth knowledge of labour legislation and regulatory requirements
