Role Overview

The Developer, 3D Generalist is responsible for creating, optimising, and maintaining 3D assets used across immersive learning experiences, VR environments, simulations, and digital learning products.

The role serves as the primary visual content specialist for interactive and immersive projects, working extensively with Blender, Substance Painter, and Unity-based production pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

3D Asset Creation

• Create high-quality 3D models, environments, props, and interactive objects.
• Develop educational simulations and virtual learning environments.
• Produce learner-focused visual assets aligned with instructional objectives.

Animation & Motion Design

• Create animations for simulations and immersive experiences.
• Produce character, object, and environmental animations.
• Support motion graphics and visual storytelling initiatives.

Asset Optimisation

• Optimise assets for real-time rendering environments.
• Ensure compatibility with VR and XR platforms.
• Maintain performance standards for interactive applications.

Visual Development

• Develop realistic textures and materials using Substance Painter.
• Create visual concepts and prototype environments.
• Support user experience and visual immersion objectives.

Asset Library Management

• Develop and maintain reusable asset libraries.
• Ensure consistency across projects.
• Establish asset production standards and naming conventions.

Key Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in 3D Animation, Digital Arts, Multimedia Design, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience creating 3D content.
• Advanced Blender skills.
• Experience with Substance Painter.
• Experience preparing assets for Unity.
• Knowledge of VR content production workflows.
• Strong portfolio of 3D modelling and animation work.
