Some of the general eligibility criteria or requirements for SASSETA bursary application are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicant must be unemployed,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant must be a South African Citizen,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant must be aged between 18 and 35,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant must have passed grade 12 or any other higher qualification,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant must be enroled at Public Tertiary Institutions in the 2024 academic year,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicant\u2019s combined household income must be between R350 001 and R600 000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are some of the eligibility criteria or requirements for applying for the bursary. According to SASSETA guidelines, a student or applicant who has applied for this bursary must score at least 60% of aggregate marks in all their modules, including the major subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The allowances provided by the SASSETA bursary are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full-Time Programmes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For every academic year, students or applicants will be provided R80 000, and this amount will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition Fees,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Textbooks and other study materials,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>University-approved or on-campus accommodation with food allowances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Distance Learning or Parttime Programmes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For every academic year, students or applicants will be provided R35 000, and this amount will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition Fees,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Textbooks and other study materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Closing Date<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The application window for SASSETA Bursary programme closes by the last week of January. This year, the bursary application closed on 27 January 2023 at 23:59:59. That means applications for 2024 are currently closed, and applicants can apply for the academic year 2025. So, if you are applying for next year, make sure to check the official SASSETA website for confirmed closing dates and the latest updates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have applied for the bursary this year, you will be informed quickly within 25 to 28 working days of the closing date of your selection.
