Programme Overview
With high rates of depression, anxiety, and trauma, there is a critical need for trained professionals who can provide effective mental health support and interventions. Social counselling workers are pivotal in addressing these issues at the community level, offering support for substance abuse, domestic violence, and poverty, which are prevalent in many South African communities. Moreover, the programme equips individuals with the necessary skills and cultural competence to understand and address the unique social dynamics of the country. This not only enhances the quality of care provided but also ensures that interventions are culturally relevant and empathetic. Therefore, investing in this programme is not only beneficial for individual career growth but also crucial for building healthier, more resilient communities in South Africa.
